Dear future grade 6’s
Coming into grade six will be a BIG leap from grade 5. But don't be afraid of the teachers and older students. The thing is, if you act like yourself, you will be treated like everyone else. The teachers really care about you and your learning, so I suggest that you take their advice to become the best that you can. To be successful in grade six, you need to stand out. What I mean by this, is that when you do your work, go beyond the criteria. Think outside of the box. These are key parts to get good grades in grade six. But when you guys think about it, it’s not really about the A+ or the B-, but about what you have learned to become better that subject. Even by getting a C+ in first term and getting a B in second term math shows TREMENDOUS growth in your learning. You will also be given the opportunity to be using technology a LOT on your work. For example you will be creating your very own website, where you will have a portfolio to showcase your learning. Be creative and outgoing on your website to make an effect to “draw the reader in!” So these are a few tips on what is going to happen in grade six, and what to do.
